Continental expands self-service check-in options

October 10, 2002

HOUSTON -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) has introduced new functionality that increases the number of customers who can use its eService self-check-in kiosks.

Continental's domestic U.S. customers connecting to codeshare flights operated by Northwest Airlines may now use an eService Center, according to a company news release. Customers connecting to most major airlines may also use the kiosks to check their bags to their final destinations.

Large tour groups can check in through the eService Centers as well.

Continental operates 668 eService Center kiosks in 111 cities. More than 1 million customers use the service each month, according to the release. Using the kiosks, customers can check in, check luggage and print boarding passes and receipts using a touchscreen display.
