Continental Airlines launches mobile phone boarding pass
December 4, 2007
USAToday: Continental Airlines passengers in Houston will be able to board flights using just cell phones or personal digital assistants, instead of printed boarding passes. The airline recently launched a three-month pilot of the technology at Bush Intercontinental Airport. If a passenger's cell phone or mobile device loses power, the passenger can get a paper boarding pass from a kiosk or a Continental agent. The program could expand to other airlines and airports.
