Container recycling machine Sparklomats expands in Middle East

People in the Middle East can recycle beverage containers at Sparklomats' reverse vending machines, according to an Arabian Business report. The company has already installed its AI-enabled reverse vending machines in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dabai and will install a total of 1,000 in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Users also receive rewards in the mobile app every time they place an empty can or bottle which they exchange for discount vouchers for delivery services, food and other offers.

The company said users have placed one bottle every three seconds and 30,000 plastic bottles and aluminum cans daily in the region.

The company has collected 35 million recyclables, 26 million plastic bottles and 8.6 million aluminum cans worldwide.
