MAITLAND, Fla. - The Westchester Medical Group, a 70-physician practice in White Plains, NY, will be the first clinical environment to completely automate its medical practice as the result of a technology alliance formed by Galvanon and Kryptiq. By integrating an online patient portal from Kryptiq with an in-office patient self-service kiosk from Galvanon connected to a GE Healthcare Centricity EMR system, Westchester Medical Group will streamline the patient check-in process, reduce administrative costs and enhance the patient experience.
"The check-in kiosks will automate one of the last parts of our practice that is still paper based - the check-in process," said Dr. Simeon Schwartz, president of The Westchester Medical Group. "We're always looking for ways to reduce administrative costs, and we believe the kiosks will do that."
In the physician office, patients can use MediKiosks from Galvanon to check in, verify appointments, enter medical history, sign consent forms and conduct payments. Outside of the physician office, patients can use Kryptiq's CareCatalyst product, an integrated Web portal that provides patients secure online access to services such as appointment scheduling, referral requests, prescription renewals and secure message communication. By integrating both online and in-person patient information with electronic medical records, physician practices can automatically unite patient data, creating a portable and up-to-date electronic medical record.
According to Galvanon CEO Clynt Taylor, "The MediKiosks product was conceived initially to help our clients enhance the patient experience through self-service applications. More importantly, they help reduce costs, reduce the potential for data entry errors and drive patient satisfaction."
Galvanon enables healthcare organizations to enhance the patient experience at home, in the hospital, and in the physician's office through solutions such as kiosks, Web self-service applications and CVM software.
