Family Health West, in Grand Junction, Colorado, has partnered with Mesa County Public Health to install a naloxone kiosk on its campus.
The kiosk, located at at 401 Unit 2 Kokopelli Blvd., provides free naloxone, as well as information on how to respond to an emergency situation, according to a Mesa County announcement.
Informational stickers on the outside of the kiosk provides instructions on how to use Narcan during an overdose. The kiosk also includes a QR code that links to the MCPH website, for information about naloxone and fentanyl test strips and other support services.
"Our ultimate goal is to save lives and support harm reduction in our community. The kiosks are meeting a critical need — offering timely, anonymous access to a medicine that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose," Chhavi Attri, MCPH Community Health Planner, said in the announcement.
