The clerk and recorder's office in El Paso County, Colorado set a record of 100,000 transactions this year with the Colorado MVExpress self-service kiosk for vehicle registration renewals, according to a press release. Intellectual Technology Inc. provides the kiosks.

First implemented in 2017, residents of El Paso County can utilize one of the 11 kiosks located throughout the county or the other 41 kiosk locations throughout the state. Vehicle registration renewal kiosks feature a three-step process touchscreen for users to type in their license plate number or scan the bar code on the side of their renewal card. Customers are then given the chance to review their vehicle record and make a payment for taxes and fees by credit/debit card, cash or check. Once the transaction is complete, the kiosk prints out a new registration, the license plate year tab and a receipt for the payment.

The MVExpress Kiosks offer the ability to also check the status of the vehicle title, obtain a duplicate registration card or obtain replacement tabs.

"Vehicle registration renewal kiosks are an innovative solution providing accessible, customer-centric motor vehicle services for our citizens," clerk and recorder Chuck Broerman said in the press release.
