Coinsource adding 40 BTMs to Washington state

Coinsource, a provider of bitcoin ATMs, is expanding in Washington state to 40 kiosk locations, according to a company press release.

"We are delighted to have reached this milestone in Washington state, and hope to only continue to bring more BTMs to the Evergreen State and beyond," Sheffield Clark, CEO of Coinsource said in the release. "As the leading BTM provider in the US, we look forward to expanding even further in the coming months."

With over 1,400 kiosks in the U.S., Coinsource has BTMs within a 15-minute drive of 75% of the the country's population, according to the release.

In 2020, Coinsource said it increased the amount of its BTMs by over 300%, ahead of the overall industry growth during the same period.

"The number of bitcoin ATMs across the world has soared, increasing by 85% over the last year, reinforced by the shift towards contactless payments amid the global pandemic," Clark said in the release. "This represents not only the rising popularity of contactless payments but also of cryptocurrency as a whole.
