ATLANTA - Clearwave, a company specializing in RFID and Web-enabled kiosks for the healthcare community, announced in a news release its support for the Center for Health Transformation, an organization led by former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich. As a member, Clearwave will support the Center's initiatives to help develop and implement a 21st-century system of health and healthcare.
Among the key initiatives for the Center is to identify solutions that will result in better healthcare outcomes, at lower cost. As the cost of healthcare continues to rise, amounting to $1.7 trillion in spending in 2003 alone, the Center sees the adoption of better solutions as the answer. Clearwave's involvement in the Center is a natural fit since its product not only simplifies healthcare administration, but also reduces those costs by up to 10 percent.
"For years, the healthcare industry has been caught in a pattern that has led to skyrocketing costs, dissatisfied consumers and inefficiencies," said Gerard White, chief executive officer of Clearwave. "Working with the Center is a great opportunity for Clearwave to bring much-needed technology and administrative simplification to change that pattern in healthcare. The Center's vision is well aligned with what we are trying to accomplish and together, we have the chance to make a significant impact by making healthcare more efficient, less costly and better for patients."
As a premier member of the Center, Clearwave will participate in quarterly member meetings, public panels, advisory groups and any projects led by the Center. The Center has already identified Clearwave as an innovative leader and will display Clearwave's solution on Innovation Row at the Center for Health Transformation office in Washington, D.C.
"Clearwave is a key addition to the Center," said Newt Gingrich, founder of the Center for Health Transformation. "Clearwave's unique technology offers an opportunity for stakeholders across the spectrum to share information in a way that promises easier access and lower costs. We look forward to working with them as they continue to innovate healthcare for patients, providers, payors and employers."
