Airline travelers enrolled in Clear's airport screening program are being subjected to additional ID verification checks by TSA officers as the result of an incident last summer, according to a report in The Washington Post.

The TSA sent a letter to Clear describing changes that will require more Clear members to have their identities checked by a TSA officer.

Clear members previously were able to skip the TSA review after getting their fingerprints or eyes scanned at Clear kiosks.

Several Clear members interviewed by The Washington Post have noticed the increased scrutiny.

Clear released a statement saying the company will continue to deliver a superior and secure experience for travelers.
