Churches to accept mobile/kiosk payments with new platform

Churches will now be able to accept donations from kiosks and text messages through a partnership between Icon Systems Inc. and Vanco Payment Solutions.

Churches will now be able to accept donations from kiosks and text messages through a partnership between Icon Systems Inc. and Vanco Payment Solutions. They have integrated the IconCOMO church management and accounting software with Give by Text to enable this feature, in addition to its existing Give by Kiosk option, according to the press release.

Vanco surveyed 1,000 U.S. church attendees on church giving. The company found more people want to be able to give money via credit card, online, text or kiosk. Only 7 percent of people surveyed said their churches allowed them to give by text and only 6 percent had the option to give via kiosk.

"Churches need to know how their members feel about giving so they can offer the methods that will best support their mission," said Kevin Lee, CEO of Vanco Payment Solutions. "We're always working to provide churches with the most updated strategies, tools, and data so they can make informed decisions about their stewardship."

Vanco plans to solve this problem by offering churches a variety of solutions including online credit and debit card payments, Give by Text and Give by Kiosk. Give by Kiosk is a tabletop machine that is designed to accept credit and debit cards, and email or print receipts.
