LifeWay Christian Stores has expanded the use of myMEDIA BurnBar kiosks to an additional 105 stores after seeing the success of a pilot study launched in 47 locations in 2009. By mid-November, 152 store locations should have them.
The kiosks, designed by Integra Interactive, allow retailers to virtually stock thousands of digital products and have them burned on-demand by customers. The kiosks sell music CDs, Bible software, video, games and audiobooks.
“LifeWay and Integra are collaborating on the creation of in-store merchandising to promote the kiosks to its shoppers,” Don Noes, Integra Senior VP, said in a press release. “The very encouraging sales results from the test locations are an indicator of the future given that little has been done to promote myMEDIA BurnBar. LifeWay has told us they will be aggressively marketing it outside of the stores.”
With the addition of the LifeWay Store chain, myMEDIA BurnBar is now in 500 locations across the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, and England.
