China introduces automated self-service bag-drop

An automated system that combines self-service bag-check and bag-drop is being trialed at China's Tianjin airport, reports Chinese state-run radio station CRI. Tianjin is a city of 7.5 million in North Eastern China.

The automated self-service system integrates baggage inspection, identification and seat selection. This is the first time that a trial for this type of technology has been carried out in China, CRI said.
