The 47th Ward of Chicago will soon be getting 22 new bike-share kiosks, according to Patch.com.
The program analyst and coordinator for the 47th Ward Alderwoman's office, confirmed that Chicago's bike-share kiosk program is moving has had funding approved and is moving forward. Now officials are working to identify potential kiosk locations in high-traffic areas:
Chicago is hoping to add 3,000 bikes in the sharing program, with plans to increase that number to 4,000 by 2014. Riders can buy a one-day pass for $7, or a yearly pass for $75. The first 30 minutes of every ride is free, followed by a $1.50 surcharge for an extra 30 minutes.
Specific locations will be released in the coming weeks.
