West Virginia health department installs syringe disposal kiosk

September 27, 2017

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department has purchased and installed an outdoor disposal kiosk for used syringes, thanks to a grant from the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation and funds from the Kannawha Communities that Care, according to The Montgomery Herald.

The kiosk, the first of its type in the state, is located outside the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department on Lee Street in Charleston, West Virginia.

The kiosk, which cost approximately $1,500, will not be used for disposal of syringes in KCHD's harm reduction program.
