CeroView takes high-tech kiosks to higher education

January 27, 2003

IRVINE, Calif. -- Turnkey kiosk manufacturer CeroView is going to college.

The company has installed 12 of its DIVA kiosks at Seattle's Bastyr University, where students can use the machines to register for classes, check grade status, search the university's library catalog and perform other self-service transactions.

"Bastyr University is a fairly typical educational client," CeroView's president, Derek Fretheim, said in a company news release. "They've invested in a sophisticated Internet and Intranet portal and are looking at ways to broaden its reach to the student base and other campus visitors."

The kiosks have been placed in key access areas on campus and Bastyr is reporting heavy usage by students.

According to the release, CeroView markets 70 kiosk designs and has developed kiosks, interactive media systems, and point-of-purchase applications for clients such as NBC International, Compaq, Coca-Cola, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Boeing, Motorola and the U.S. Army.
