IRVINE, Calif. - Commuters at two busy transit stations can use two new kiosks made by CeroView to get visitor information, real-time traffic reports and custom transit itineraries.
CeroView created the Citadine outdoor kiosks for Norwalk Transit, a municipal transit operator in southern California. The kiosks are located at the Norwalk-Santa Fe Springs transportation center and the Metro Greenline Transit Center.
The Citadine is a triangular kiosk made of tempered glass and stainless steel. It has an internal aluminum frame with integrated insulation. The top of the kiosk is illuminated at night. The

CeroView created a custom application for the transit agency. The system includes Macromedia Flash attraction screens and features Norwalk services. Users can also access information from more than 12 transportation services.
Derek Fretheim, CeroView's President, said, "We created a hybrid kiosk that uses both static or locally-based content as well as pulling dynamic content from the Internet."
CeroView used Netkey's Creator 5.0 to design the application. System components include an LCD screen bright enough to be read in daylight, Microtouch's through glass touch technology, a UPS battery back up, and an industrial grade PC.
CeroView specializes in creating and maintaining Internet-based and interactive business to business and business to consumer products and services. It offers over 20 kiosk designs. The firm has developed a number of e-commerce ventures, media systems, point-of-purchase applications and related web-based processes. Clients include NBC, Compaq Computer, NASA, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Coca Cola, and the U.S. Army.
