Cerence AI, a provider of conversational AI for user experiences, has collaborated with Code Factory to launch VoiceTopping, a solution bringing voice interaction to self-service kiosks across various industries, according to a press release.
VoiceTopping integrates embedded voice technology into existing kiosks, enabling users to interact naturally by speaking to and hearing responses from the on-screen information. The solution leverages Cerence's conversational AI, including core voice technologies and speech enhancement, aiming to simplify kiosk interactions in noisy environments within sectors like restaurants, retail, healthcare, transportation, banking and entertainment.
"With our decades of experience in conversational AI in the car, we are well versed in the power that voice interaction has to transform user experiences across a wide variety of sectors," Brian Krzanich, CEO of Cerence AI, said in the release.
"Self-service kiosks are evolving to emulate more human-like interactions, closely replicating the experience of speaking with a human attendant," Melanie Endres, CEO of Code Factory, said in the release. "VoiceTopping is uniquely positioned for this transformation, enhancing users' interaction experience with kiosks while also improving manufacturers' accessibility compliance with evolving regulations in different countries."
VoiceTopping is presented as a plug-and-play solution that simplifies integration for kiosk manufacturers without requiring significant hardware modifications. The touchless nature of the technology offers the potential to enhance accessibility and meet upcoming regulations like the European Accessibility Act.
