Cash kiosk in Wales aims to combat bank closures

A cash kiosk, created via a partnership between Principality Building Society and OneBanx, has launched in Caerphilly, south Wales. The kiosk allows customers of major banks and building societies to withdraw and deposit cash without using a card, according to a BusinessNewsWales report.

Principality plans on installing more kiosks throughout Wales to increase access to banking services in areas not served by a bank.

"Our members have told us that access to cash and services makes a real difference to them, contributing to a healthy high street and giving our members, colleagues and communities confidence," Vicky Wales, chief customer officer at Principality Building Society, told the news outlet.

"In an area that's suffered from bank closures, we know that this service, and our ongoing loyalty to the high street, will help residents and businesses manage their finances, strengthening both the community and the local economy."
