A proposed Carvana glass tower vending machine has moved closer to reality in Skokie, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, as the village's plan commission approved a new site plan that includes bird strike prevention and other adjustments, according to a wttw.com report.
The village board of trustees are expected to vote on final approval mid month.
The company will wrap the 140-foot-tall building in a bird-friendly pattern up to 54 feet and 10 inches to minimize potential bird collisions.
Carvana also agreed to dim the tower's lights between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. to 50% of what the village ordinance permits, while east facade facing the Eden's Expressway will not be dimmed.
