CarePortMD teams with ZH Healthcare on telemedicine kiosks

October 12, 2018

ZH Healthcare, a provider of health IT as a service, has announced an agreement for the use of its BlueEHR HITaaS platform in CarePortMD kiosk-based telemedicine services, according to a press release.

HITaas allows e-health software developers and existing applications to utilize pre-existing components and processes. The use of BlueEHR will allow CarePortMD to go to market faster than would be possible if the company were to develop a standalone telemedicine module, the release said.

CarePortMD joins a growing list of developers and services that rely on blueEHR technology infrastructure, which includes video consulting capabilities. CareportMD's use of the HITaaS platform focuses on its preexisting communications capability which enables telemedicine consultations.

CarePortMD is developing a network of telemedical access points in retail locations, where staffed kiosks equipped with blood-testing, electrocardiography and other diagnostics are used to support clinical evaluations by remotely located clinicians.
