Car wash inaugurates gift-card kiosks

October 14, 2010

The Black Dog Car Wash chain in Dover, Mass., sees opportunity where others see only road grime, according to Foster’s.com, the online version of the Foster Daily Democrat in Dover.

The company will soon open its fifth location, powered by more than 30 solar panels on the roof and energy-saving variable frequency drives on the washing equipment to help reduce electricity costs.

The new location will also have a gift-card kiosk, an industry first, according to owner Jeremiah Gage. "Car washes, in general, tend to have a negative stigma of being dirty, noisy and outdated," Gage said. "We take great pride in providing our customers with state-of-the-art facilities that are welcoming, clean and meticulously maintained."

Gage plans to install gift-card kiosks at all his car wash locations.
