Caltron expands open-frame monitor options

August 13, 2002

FREMONT, Calif. -- Touchscreen provider Caltron Industries Inc., seeking to enhance the versatility of its 23.1-inch open-frame monitors, has made USB touchscreen connections available for the units.

Company officials expect the enhancement to appeal to kiosk operators because the monitors are no longer limited to serial connections. The monitor features five-wire resistive technology and can run on Windows and Linux operating systems.

Based in Fremont, Calif., Caltron supplies flat-panel displays for kiosks and other applications.
