California State library offers contactless checkout kiosk

Students at California State University in Fullerton can now check out library materials at a "Meescan" kiosk rather than visiting the circulation desk at the Pollak Library South, according to a Daily Titan report.

Kevin Phillips, head of circulation at Pollak Library, said the kiosk is intended to offer a contactless checkout option.

To use kiosk, users type in their campus ID or swipe their TitanCard, then scan their books below the barcode reader. Users still need to return loaned materials to the circulation desk or return bins when they are due.
