California launches DMV kiosk program

San Diego Union Tribune: Department of Motor Vehicles locations in San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles counties have started to use touchscreen kiosks as part of a DMV customer service pilot program. The terminals are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and enable people to get registration cards and license plate tags immediately. The machines accept cash, checks, debit or credit cards.
