Building on success with other airlines, IBM installs kiosks for Ireland's Aer Lingus

April 12, 2004

DUBLIN--IBM has finished installing FastPass check-in service for Aer Lingus airlines at the Dublin Airport.

IBM has implemented similar systems for other major airlines across the world, but the Aer Lingus deal is anticipated to be one of the most effective to date once all 38 planned terminals come online in early May, according to a press release.

"Fast Pass is an example of leading-edge technology custom designed for Aer Lingus' requirements. It is a speedy, cost-effective and smarter method of checking in for flights," said Willie Walsh, Aer Lingus' CEO.

IBM's check-in terminals are also used by British Airways, Air Canada and KLM. IBM provides not only hardware, but also process and application design, project management and support.
