Buick Open to feature touchscreens, large-format displays

June 5, 2005

TROY, Mich. - McGill Digital Solutions announced in a news release that it has partnered with the Buick Open to design, develop and deliver six information kiosks - featuring jumbo plasma screens with touchscreen interactive content - for fan and media use during this year's Buick Open at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club.

Buick will locate the kiosks on the golf course, in the media center and in Warwick Hills' pro shop. A first for both the PGA Tour and the Buick Open, each installation features Panasonic high definition plasma monitors, 42-inch to 65-inch with touchpanel overlays; a specially designed user interface for touchscreen functionality; content management system for dynamic updates during the event; regularly updated content including player profiles, statistics, post-round interviews, interactive course maps, daily tee times, daily pairings and more.

"Buick is dedicated to making the Buick Open a great event for both players and fans. We think we've scored a hole-in-one with McGill's kiosks," said Larry Peck, Buick's golf marketing manager. "They've combined leading-edge software, hardware and application design, made it easy to use, compelling and nearly impossible to resist."
