LONDON -- BT Payphones is offering free use of its high-speed broadband Internet kiosks as part of a promo to plug the service.
BT isn't charging for services such as Web access, e-mail and text messaging from its London-based kiosks Nov. 4-10, according to The Register. The same deal will be offered in Leeds and Manchester between Nov. 11-17.
The promo will roll out to another 27 towns between Nov. 18-24 and in an additional 40 areas from Nov. 25 to Dec. 1, according to the report.
Since July, BT has installed more than 1,000 new Internet kiosks and plans to have 20,000 within the next five years.
