British Airways ditches check-in desks

Times Online: Beginning April 25, passengers traveling on flights within the United Kingdom will only be able to check in using a self-service kiosk or via the carrier's Web site. Seventy percent of passengers taking domestic flights still use check-in desks, so it will take some adjustment. But BA says it will have dedicated staff on hand to guide people through the check-in procedure using the self-service kiosks. The current check-in desks will be converted to fast bag drop terminals for passengers traveling with luggage.
