The kiosk-based breathalyzer system BreathAdvisor, which launched last year in several bars in Utah, has added a taxi dispatch function that allows users to call for a cab on a touchscreen interface.
The kiosk's software automatically dispatches taxi services to venues without disturbing the venue staff, according to a news release. Users input their cellphone number and party size, and remote servers then verify requests via text message and then contact taxi companies with necessary information. The taxi companies vary depending on the location of the kiosks, but partnered taxi companies currently include CMS Transportation, Grab-A-Cab and Yellow Cab, the release said.
BreathAdvisor is also developing a mobile application to accompany the kiosk network. The app will be available on all smartphones and allow patrons to find locations, receive complimentary breathalyzer services, contact taxi companies and receive private breathalyzer results.
