The Brantford Public Library in Brantford, Ontario has opened a library kiosk at the Sobeys Shellard Lane location, according to a Woodstock Sentinel Review report. This kiosk allows residents to borrow books by simply scanning their library card.
"The introduction of kiosks reflects the library's commitment to offering more opportunities to engage with the library throughout Brantford and remind the community that our services are for everyone," Rae-Lynne Aramburo, CEO of Brantford Public Library, told the news outlet.
The kiosk, which will be officially launched on September 17, can hold up to 150 books. This marks the second library kiosk in Brantford, following the one at Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. Brantford Public Library is among the first libraries in North America to establish a kiosk within a grocery store.
