Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) has installed a CPR-training kiosk on its concourse, the first of its type in an National Health Service hospital. Patients, visitors and hospital staff can use the kiosk's inbuilt mannequin and screen guide to learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), according to a BBC report.
Eve Flockton, Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust's resuscitation training lead, told the news outlet that she could not stress how important CPR is. "It can save a life, simple as that," Flockton told the BBC. "Everyone should know how to do CPR effectively as you never know when you might need it. The chances are it could be someone you know as most cardiac arrests happen in the home or workplace."
The kiosk is fully automated and takes just 90 seconds to teach users the basics of CPR, according to the report.
