Borders concept store features computer kiosks

ALLEN, Texas — With the grand opening of its 24,000-square-foot concept store in Allen, Texas, Borders is blending digital and Internet options with in-store features such as multiple computer kiosks and stations dedicated to digital services.
According to a news release, the interactive kiosks allow customers to download music, create personalized photo books, and peruse cooking, travel, wellness, graphic novels and children's destinations within the store. Customers also can use the kiosks to learn about recommended titles and receive advice from Borders' expert buyers. In select destinations, large in-section LCD screens will feature recognizable names on specific subject areas.
The Allen, Texas store is the first of 14 concept stores Borders will open this year.
