BMW kiosk finalist for Retail Systems award

May 20, 2004

BRANFORD, Conn. -- The BMW Virtual Sales Center kiosk, powered by Netkey Inc. software, is a finalist for the 2003 Retail Systems Achievement Award for "Best in E-commerce Integration."

The BMW kiosk, found in all 348 authorized BMW centers in the United States, is an interactive multimedia kiosk that helps the automaker build sales, deliver consistent marketing messages and reinforce the BMW brand at the point of the consumer's purchase decision in the dealership.

The Retail Systems Achievement Awards honor outstanding examples of systems and interactive applications that have resulted in more effective customer service and improved business processes. The awards will be presented June 9 during the Retail Systems 2003/VICS Collaborative Commerce Conference and Exposition in Chicago.

"The BMW Virtual Sales Center is an example of multi-channel retailing that links online marketing with the in-store experience," said Alex Richardson, chief executive officer of Netkey.

Netkey software and services were used to develop the kiosk application and to remotely monitor and manage the sales center network. Frank Mayer & Associates developed the kiosk enclosure.
