Bluepoint purchase puts spotlight on Limelight Media Group

April 7, 2004

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--Limelight Media Group, Inc. has agreed to fully acquire Salt Lake City-based Bluepoint Technologies, which specializes in developing web-based software for managing and monitoring display devices.

According to a press release, the acquisition will be completed this month in a stock and cash deal. Previously, Limelight had announced plans to acquire a 51 percent ownership stake in Bluepoint.

Recent terms call for Bluepoint to be operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Limelight. Bluepoint's assets include the patent-pending Linkware, a web-based technology platform that enables remote and centralized control and monitoring of digital signs, billboards and kiosks.

The company's proprietary software includes DisplayLink for digital signage networks; PortalLink for on-screen keyboard and touch-screen deployments; KioskLink for kiosk networks; and LinkWatch for monitoring and diagnosing any Windows-based device connected to the Internet.

"From the start, we standardized on the Linkware platform, working with Bluepoint to design and develop the system that drives our cinema and in-lobby digital advertising network," said David Lott, president and CEO of Limelight Media.

Lott said Bluepoint's expertise would bolster Limelight's ability to deploy out-of-home networks outside the cinema industry.
