Blockbuster reaffirms kiosk plan as profits fall

Home Media Magazine: Upon news of an 11 percent drop in revenue for the first quarter, which ended April 5, and a net income of $27.5 million, down from $45.7 million during the same period in 2008, Blockbuster Inc. chairman and chief executive Jim Keyes has assured investors that the brand will launch 3,000 movie-rental kiosks by the end of the year. Blockbuster currently operates 10 kiosks that offer movie downloads on Flash memory sticks and hopes to install more.
