Blazepoint expands printer holdings with purchase

LONDON - Blazepoint Group PLC, which manufactures a line of rugged interactive kiosks, has reached a deal to purchase the intellectual property rights for a line of thermal printers developed by Matrix Developments Ltd.

Under the deal, Blazepoint will issue Matrix 2 million shares of stock and assume $71,000 in debt. The company will also pay Matrix 10 percent of all revenue generated by printer sales over the next three years.

Blazepoint officials said the deal will enhance the company's ability to create custom printers for current and new customers. The company already offers a line of plastic card, ticket, and receipt printers through partners Eltron and Practical Automation.

Blazepoint's kiosks are designed for high-volume deployments, such as information access and financial transactions.
