Lux Vending, which operates BitCoin Depot cryptocurrency ATMs, has sued the McLennan County, Texas sheriff's office for seizing cash from one of its kiosks to compensate a customer who claims they were victimized by scammers, according to a kwtx.com report.

The customer, an 82-year-old woman, converted $15,000 in cash to bitcoin at the kiosk before claiming she was scammed. The sheriff's office seized cash from the machine to return it to the customer.

Lux Vending claims the sheriff's office unlawfully seized the cash and wants the cash returned.

The suit was filed in Waco's 74th State District Court.

A hearing has not been scheduled.
