Idemia, a France-based provider of security services using biometric technology, will equip border crossings in Iceland with its TravelKiosk, a multi-biometric border self-service kiosk, according to a press release. The solution includes automated gates.
Idemia will also ensure operator-manned counters, mobile solutions and tracking systems meet the country's security requirements.
The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police selected Idemia.
"The entry exit system will affect all airports with traffic crossing external borders," Guðmundur Daði Rúnarsson, chief commercial and airport development officer at Isavia, the country's national airport and air navigation service provider, said in the release.
