Big fat numbers for Internet kiosks

DALLAS - A company that provides free Internet access at kiosks in 106 shopping malls claims to be the largest provider of broadband Internet access in the country.

BigFatWow! Media Networkssaid in a news release that is has surpassed two million users per month, all from its kiosks stationed in shopping malls. The company offers advertisers an outlet for airing customized content on 42-inch flat-panel televisions. The Internet centers are staffed with a representative to assist in demonstrations.

In January, BigFatWow! acquired a competitor, CyberXpo. The company plans to double its outlets, reaching 200 malls by the end of 2001.
