Hospital patients can keep boredom at bay with Advantech's all-in-one, interactive bedside kiosk with digital signage capabilities.
According to a press release, the PIT-1502W kiosk comes with high-end image and video quality at full HD resolution. It's designed for patient-bedside entertainment and for patient-flow management, offering video and voice communications, TV, radio, movies, games and the Internet — all from a single kiosk.
Patients can also access the latest information on their conditions, and keep in touch with family and friends through VOIP, email and instant messaging. Hospital staff can use the system to retrieve medical records and access databases from the bedside to help with diagnosing patients.
Intel's first dual core ATOM processor powers the kiosk. The ATOM D510 is a desktop-class processor with integrated GPU and memory controller on die. The processor supports full HD (1080p) resolution and digital TV (ATSC/DVBT) formats, making this platform perfect for digital entertainment and communication purposes, according to the release.
PIT-1502W is equipped with a 15.6-inch, multi-function TFT touchscreen, smart card reader and 2 megapixel camera. For customization, several optional peripherals are available such as Wi-Fi, barcode scanner, RFID, handset and remote control, and VESA mount swing arm for portable mounting on trolleys and dining tables.
