Baton Rouge, Louisiana plans to invest close to $1 million on 900 downtown parking kiosks that will include card readers and accept mobile payments, replacing coin meters, according to a report in The Advocate.

The Metro Council must first approve a contract not to exceed $850,000with Flowbird, a New Jersey-based provider of payment and ticketing systems for public transportation and parking, to install single- and double-spaced parking meters and multi-space kiosks.
