Motorists in downtown Baton Rouge will no longer have to use coins to pay for parking as the city revamps its parking spots with multi-space kiosks, according to a report in The Advocate.

The 100 Flowbird kiosks will have card readers and allow for mobile payments through a cellphone app.

The hourly parking rate will rise from 50 cents to a dollar.
