The City Centre Post Office in the English town of Bath has introduced five self-service kiosks as part of a branch modernization program, reports the Bath Chronicle.
Last year, the Post Office announced a multimillion pound investment programme to modernize its 11,500 branches across the U.K. According to the Bath Chronicle, so far 2,000 Post Office branches have been modernized.
Paula Vennells, the Post Office’s chief executive, said that the program involves introducing longer opening hours, deploying self-service kiosks to reduce waiting times, and selling new products such current accounts and mortgages in Post Office branches.
The Post Office said that its Post & Go kiosks will weigh and measure items that customers want to send, and check the price of postage for their destination. Customers also can purchase stamps at the kiosks.
