BA/Amex credit card kiosks land at Heathrow

London, U.K.-based design house Engage Production developed the software for five new British Airways American Expres interactive kiosks at London Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5, according to an announcement from Engage.

The interactive kiosks use "experiential marketing" technology to promote co-branded British Airways Amex credit cards, which offer Avios reward points.

The kiosks are housed in a booth surrounding a giant spinning globe with BA destinations marked on it.

Engage said in its announcement that the kiosks offer travelers the chance to win 100,000 Avios points. Travelers also have the opportunity to win the instant prize of a leather passport-holder or leather luggage tag.

"Offering the chance of winning a prize is a sure-fire way of engaging customers, and adding a touch of technology makes it more entertaining," Steve Blyth, Engage's managing director, said in the announcement.
