Australia corrections agency to deploy kiosks with biometric ID tech

The Queensland Corrective Services in Queensland, Australia will replace its self-service kiosks with a fully managed, cloud-based system from Optimation under a five-year contract, according to an arnnet.com.au report.

The solution includes kiosks equipped with biometric identification and a smartphone app and will be deployed in Queensland regional offices.

QCS selected Optimation New Zealand Ltd., a provider of automation and systems integration services, to manage individuals on community supervision orders.

Alex Bouma, Optimation executive director, said the solution integrates with different systems of record and third party solutions such as electronic monitoring.
