Presso, an Atlanta-based startup, has introduced a self-operated dry cleaning machine that resembles a vending machine and is more economical than traditional dry cleaning, according to a cnbc.com report.
The user places a piece of clothing in the Presso machine, then enters information about its size and fabric. The process takes a few minutes and can cost up to 80% less than that of traditional dry cleaning.
The machine also consumes three times less electricity and seven times less water than traditional laundry services, according to the company. It also removes transportation to a cleaning facility, which reduces the carbon footprint of clothing care.
The company has machines in hotels and apartment buildings.
