Asteres receives three patents for prescription-delivery kiosks

August 29, 2010

San Diego-based Asteres Inc., a provider of automated prescription-pickup kiosks for retail, hospital and military pharmacies, announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued Asteres three additional patents. In 2006 Asteres was awarded its first patent, which focused on the delivery of finished prescriptions to consumers. Since then, Asteres has continued to aggressively protect its novel business and technology solutions for the delivery of prescriptions and regulated products to consumers.

The three new Asteres patents contain 196 separate claims covering system interfaces and various methods for delivering finished prescriptions and regulated products directly to consumers. Asteres is currently pursuing additional intellectual property development and protection, including numerous patent applications pending worldwide.

Asteres' premier product is ScriptCenter, the first prescription pick-up kiosk for retail, healthcare and military pharmacies that allows patients to pickup and pay for their prescriptions even when the pharmacy is closed.
