Assa Abloy acquires Janam Technologies

Assa Abloy Group, a Stockholm based provider of access solutions, has acquired Janam Technologies LLC, a Woodbury, New York based provider of handheld mobile computers and readers, for an undisclosed sum, according to a press release.

The acquisition enhances the event access portfolio of HID Global, an Austin, Texas-based identity solutions brand of Assa Abloy, to include handheld readers for scanning tickets using barcode and RFID technology, including NFC.

Janam, founded in 2006, has 20 employees and will be part of HID's identification technologies business area.

"We welcome Janam to the HID family and look forward to leveraging their mobile reader technology to improve the event experience for millions of spectators around the world," Björn Lidefelt, executive vice president and head of global technologies business unit HID Global, said in the press release.
