A conference on healthcare technology in Singapore offers a number of innovations that could become commonplace, including "Lucas", a motion-detecting robot that could double as a doctor or information kiosk, according to Channelnewsasia.com.
Lucas, created by A*STAR Social Robotics, comes with sensors, motion detectors and microphones for speech recognition. Lucas is designed to help patients when doctors are busy, and to also perform as an information kiosk.
Much of the technology at the fest is at the prototype stage but three products shown last year have since been commercialized.
