AUSTIN, Texas -- Wincor-Nixdorf Inc. will feature software from Apunix Computer Services in kiosk and self-service solutions it markets to retail and hospitality customers in North America.
The German-based manufacturer of POS devices and ATMs announced the agreement in a news release. Wincor-Nixdorf, whose North American base is in Austin, said its open-architecture kiosks and BEETLE POS system products adapt easily to software from Apunix. The companies said their solutions for retailers are highly configurable and can be adapted to suit any retail touch point, in any operating system environment, including Linux and Windows.
Apunix, based in San Diego, has developed software solutions for a variety of retail environments, and has won the kiosk industry's premier award for software the last two years.
The two companies will market applications including information kiosk, gift registry, self-service ordering in restaurants or grocery delis, and automated hotel check-in, among others.
